Trailblazers Mentoring Foundation (TMF) joined the government of Uganda and other partners on 15th – 16th August 2019 for the first ever Africa Regional Youth conference on Sexual Reproductive Health (SRH), economic empowerment and leadership held at Silver Springs Hotel in Kampala which brought together youth from Eastern and Central Africa, under the theme: “Enhancing Youth Engagement For Improved Access To Youth-Friendly Sexual Reproductive Health, Economic Empowerment & Leadership”.
The conference brought together more than 300 delegates from 15 countries in Africa. The African youth brought out their demands to governments and development partners to invest in young people’s health, job creation and meaningfully involve them in productive leadership. The conference hosted Mr Maxence Ondongo, the African union youth representative from Congo Brazzaville. the government of Uganda through minister of gender and minister of health, committed to supporting young people’s development interventions.
TMF one of the organizing and coordinating partner of this 1st ever African conference bringing minds and hearts for the youth also took lead in moderating one the breakaway sessions on promoting Girl-Child Education to address Teenage Pregnancies, Child Marriage and School drop-outs.
