Keep a Girl in School

For many girls in Africa and Uganda in Particular, education isn’t just important for a brighter future, it’s critical to their survival. Yet, girls often drop out of school simply because they can’t afford feminine hygiene products. A lack of education leads to vulnerability. Vulnerability leads to unwanted pregnancy, human trafficking, sexual abuse, domestic violence, HIV, early marriage, and a life of no choices. Together, we can change this. Currently, we are working alongside local schools in Karamoja, Busoga, and West Nile regions in Uganda to increase access, participation, and completion rates of children including those with special needs and child mothers to quality education, reduce the dropout rate by providing sanitary products, building advocacy and leadership skills of children especially girls to demand protection and promotion of their rights, inspiring them to excel in every aspect of life right from academics, economic and social life.
