Empowering Dreams, Building Futures: TMF to Implement the DREAMS Programme for Adolescent Girls

TMF is now an implementing partner of the globally recognized DREAMS Programme. The programme aims to reduce HIV and empower adolescent girls and young women through life skills, SRHR education, mentorship, and livelihoods training.   Trailblazers Mentoring Foundation with funding from the Center for Diseases Control (CDC) through the Monitoring and Evaluation Technical Support Programme (METS) in partnership with three Implementing partners including Reach Out Mbuya Community Initiative in Kampala district, the Infectious Diseases Institute in Wakiso district and Baylor Foundation Uganda in Fort Portal City – Kabarole district is implementing a one-year project titled “The Promotion of Prevention of HIV and AIDS project among in-school Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW) in Kampala, Wakiso and Kabalore Districts, targeting 1,200 in-school AGYW, as follows; 444 in Kampala, 444 in Wakiso and 312 in Fort Portal City. Currently, the project is being implemented in 12 schools (5 in Kabalore, 6 in Wakiso and 5 in Kampala districts). Text Box: The project aims to achieve three main outcomes i) Improved access of adolescent girls and young women to SRH/GBV information, mentorship and access to essential services to reduce their vulnerability to HIV, teenage pregnancy and all forms of violence and abuse ii) Strengthened systems at school and district level to enhance delivery of adolescent health interventions iii) Effective M&E systems for data generation for evidence- based learning, inform policy and programming.   We’re proud to be part of this journey to build resilience, confidence, and opportunity.
